Miniatures, Maquettes and More
Miniatures and maquettes have many functions. In film, these scaled models assist art directors see in three dimensions. In individual sculpture such as a garden figure or landscape water fall design, miniatures and maquettes reveal design detail and allow accurate time and budgetary estimates. For film, the models are created in light, temporary mediums. Miniatures and maquette's also may be mass produced for promotional use, gift items or commercial sale. Genesis Sculpture Studio employs a multi-medium approach to execute each sculpture to client specifications.

Quake Miniature
A 12 point earthquake destroys Los Angeles. The round Capital Records building (upper left) is only 2 inches tall. The model was sculpted entirely from business cards.

Promotional Possibilities
Miniature creations often invaluable business marketing tools. These fanciful creations were sculpted for Universal Studios’ Fivel’s Adventure tour, based upon the Spielberg animated feature American Tail.

Architectural Models
This scale model church was sculpted for Universal Florida’s Jaws thrill ride. It is part of the town attacked by the shark. The brownstone model was created for the Earthquake ride, also at Universal Florida.

Maquette
A design maquette such as this piece, and its companion, executed  for Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. It stands only 8 inches tall. The sculptured model helps the art director work out specific details that may be overlooked in drawings. Additionally, such models serve as promotional and advertising tools

‘Kool Kat’
Stage back drops, sign art and theater graphics are often used to enhance a stage performance.  This backdrop for a national musical tour measured more than 20 feet tall and was used center-stage behind the performers.

Illustrated backdrop
Distinct and easily recognizable name identification is a critical marketing component. Business logos are used by everyone many times a day. This logo was done for a musical group and was incorporated into everything associated with the band from stationary to stage backdrops.

A Hitchcock Carousel Two inches long from nose to tail, these miniature  sculptures were part of  a fully functioning carousel measuring some 18 inches across. The carousel was fully functional.
